More Forum Marketing…

Here’s yet another way to “exploit” forums.

I keep writing these posts because I know that at least 50% of the people who read my blog spend A LOT of time on the forums. This is wasted time, unless, you monetize it!

This is just a quick tip, a simple idea, to maybe spark something off within you…

Most forums are split up into different categories and sub-categories etc. Large forums have a lot of these and the people that are searching in the “deep” categories are often very targeted users. Why not market to these guys?

Luckily, the forums have something built in to help us. Under each category and even thread, there’s a box that says “Other Users Watching:” or something along those lines. If these people are “watching” the “Blogging” category, why not send them a personal message (custom message for each guy) recommending your amazing “blogging” product!

Just an idea here, there’s loads of potential and it’s proved quite profitable for me so far! You can of course, outsource all of this!

Don’t Trust PPC Ads…

A lot of people believe that PPC ads are the authority ads and that they can be trusted since they’ve been approved by Google etc.

Wrong. Let me give you an example.

Search for limewire pro and you’ll see there’s an ad that looks like this:

lp Dont Trust PPC Ads...

Doesn’t look too professional so you probably wouldn’t have fallen for this. But, click on it and see what happends. You get this page:

http://limewire-flash-pro2008.com/page2.htm

Which is quite clearly a scam. It’s an image with a few buttons overlayed pointing to someone’s paypal. I find this quite amusing!

Anyways, this is just to say, be careful! (although most of you will just laugh at this! I did.)

The “$24,000″ Landing Page

I have a pretty large swipe file and I’m constantly updating it. For those of you who don’t know, a “swipe” file is a collection of sales pages, adverts and any copywriting material that has done well or you like the style of (something that made you buy something is always good to keep!). I strongly, strongly advise you keep a file with all different sales pages, landing pages etc. and use them as a reference to when you need to write a similiar piece. My swipe file has hundreds and hundreds of pages, all in different niche’s and it helps me considerably when I need to write some copy. Now, I was surfing the net and I spotted two interesting pages which I decided to add to my swipe file and I think you should do (or at least draw from the ideas within them).

Both pages were affiliate pages designed to promote Frank Kern’s “Mass Control”. The first one, made over $24,000 (in affiliate profits) during the first hour. Here’s the link (ignore the top bit, it’s something the author has added at a later date):

http://www.masscontrolbonusoffer.com/silver-lining.htm

The interesting idea within this page (as well as the decent copy) is that the affiliate offered a physical product as a bonus. Every other affiliate under the sun offered people a copy of their “latest, unreleased, never-before-seen e-book” whereas this guy offered them a flat screen. Definetly a good idea to remember.

The second page I have, is of another landing page that did as well as the first and is definetly worth “swiping”. Take a look:

http://www.frankkernmasscontrolbonus.com/

Take note of the nice design, good copy and the bonuses they offered. Notice how the bonuses fit perfectly in with Mass Control and they even added a special members area for people who brought Mass Control through them. Alot to learn from.

Just a few “swipes” to get you going. Don’t forget to swipe LetMeAdvise.com , we got some killer stuff on here! ;)

Registering the Right Domain Name for Your Affiliate Business

This is guest post from AffiliateTips.com where you can find great advice to get started in affiliate marketing. You can also find and compare affiliate programs in all of the most lucrative segments on their site.

There is no doubt that there is money to make in affiliate marketing, but it’s not as easy as throwing up a website and then lay back and watch the cash roll in. Affiliate marketing takes time and effort-just like any other business, and there are a lot of things that need some thought before you start out.

One of those things is the domain name that you pick for your affiliate site. It is extremely important that you put some thought into your domain name. But don’t worry; we have gathered all the things that you need to keep in mind to pick the perfect domain name!

Keep it short

Try to keep your domain name short and simple, since it’s easy to misspell or misunderstand longer names, making it harder for your visitors to return to your site. But don’t over do it; if your brand name is a bit longer but easy to remember it’s better to go with that. An easy test to see if your domain name is good is to tell it to family and friends without spelling it out and see if they can write it down correctly. If they do, it’s probably simple enough, and if they get it wrong it might be a good idea to consider other names. Also try to keep the amount of hyphens to a bare minimum (if you need to use them at all!) since they make any name harder to pronounce and also look less professional.

Branding is Key

In a perfect world your domain name should also include the name of your website. Keep this in mind and check out if the domain is available before you settle for a name for your website. This could easily be done with a free domain registry tool such as Register.com.

Don’t Forget Your Keyword

To get as much visitors as possible from natural searches is key, so it is of great importance that your website ranks well in the search engines. One way to improve your rankings is to have the keyword you are trying to rank for in your domain name. It may seem like all the domains including the keyword are taken in competitive niches, but don’t underestimate your imagination – in this case a little bit can go a long way!

Be Creative

As said before, your imagination is your best asset when trying to decide on a great domain name. Try to come up with a domain name that not only sound professional but also sticks with your visitors. Think about what kind of names you find it easy to remember and look at what they have in common and then use that information.

What Is Your Market?

If your market is US you should always opt for a dot com, no matter where you are located geographically. But if you only do business in the UK it might be a better idea to look at a .co.uk-address as well and redirecting the dot com to that, to make sure you don’t loose any visitors.

This might seem overwhelming at first, but it is well worth to spend some extra time on your domain name as it can have a great impact on your success!

Emails Gone Wild.

I’ve just finished going through every single email. There was a lot. I want to give you a small idea of how many emails I get. I think you’ll find it pretty ridiculous. I made the mistake of re-routing all the emails from all my sites into one email account. Big mistake. Let me show you why. Over the next few days I’m going to be doing a live demonstration to emphasize to you the importance of being organized. The importance of having different email accounts per site, a team to manage them or investing in a full support system (which is what I have done).

Like I said, I’ve cleared out the emails. Here’s a screenshot of what my email account looks like today:

G1 Emails Gone Wild.

G11 Emails Gone Wild.

I’ll keep you updated. We’ll see what happends!

By the way, only my readers have access to my personal address so I’d appreciate it if you kept it quiet!

LetMeAdvise@googlemail.com - I still check it regularly.

Forum Juice…

I HATE forums. They suck up ALL my time.

They stop me making money. :(

If you’re in the same position, it sucks! It’s hard to stop, they’re so addictive! I’ve tried to fight them. I recently installed a FireFox Add-On which prevents me from visiting the forums before a certain time. I just end up removing it though within a few minutes.

So, I figured, I might as well get something worthwile from the forums. If you can’t beat them, join them! And I began searching…

I soon found that most forums actually do not use the “nofollow” tag. This means you get link juice everytime your link shows up on a forum. I’m no expert in SEO but I’m sure this is a “good” thing. So, ive instantly added LetMeAdvise in all my forum signatures and should soon be getting an even higher PR rank and hopefully will be ranking soon for my key term. Hopefully it should make me even more money online!

Anyways, here is a list of the top forums with high PR which allow you to add links and give you “PR juice” for doing so:

Viral Video Charts

vid1 Viral Video Charts

Since releasing the “$100 A Day” YouTube Report which can be found here, I’ve received loads of emails. One of the most common themes is about the type of video you should promote. In the report, I mentioned you should go for upcoming or new music videos but the problem is, there is so much competition in that field nowadays. The music video often gets uploaded even before the song is even released!

So, what kind of video should you upload?

Anything viral. Videos that spread on their own. Videos that people want to share. Funny, scary, cool, weird videos.

“Okay Dave, but how on earth do I know if a video is viral?”

Simple. I’ve found a site which simply tells you what is Viral and is updated constantly each day. The site is:

http://www.viralvideochart.com/

What this site does is it lists the latest “viral” videos. Videos which are been viewed at a fast, increasing rate.

How do we take advantage of this though?

Well, if you look closely, you’ll see that most of these “new” videos are from one site. YouTube, DailyMotion etc. It’s very rare that they are on all the sites so all you need to do, is download the video using YouTubeLoader or whatever you want to use, brand it (add a watermark) and then re-upload it to all the other video sites. To do this I use TrafficGeyser. I don’t want to use an affiliate link (they’re banned on this blog!) so just search it in Google. Traffic Geyser will upload the video you know is already viral to all the other networks.

If you were to do that for all the videos that show up on Viral Video Charts you’ll soon be on your way to a few thousand of dollars a day. It’s well worth it!

Why Thank You Google.

Was pleasantly surprised today. Google updated my PageRank on 3 of my sites.

pagerank_google Why Thank You Google.

LetMeAdvise.com - is now PR 4

YouTubeLoader.com - is now PR 4

Camrosecs.com - is now PR 4

Thanks Google! This is weird though. I’m normally pissed of at Google (being a PPC marketer myself). All the quality score rubbish etc.

Turns out Google isn’t too bad after all! Hehe. They have made me lots of money and now they’ve boosted my pagerank. SO…ALL HAIL GOOGLE!

Say Hello To LORD Dave King!

Hey guys,

Just a quick post to say that i am now officially LORD Dave King. One step closer to being an actual “King” of the offline word. Won’t tell you how i got the official title but damn it’s a good feeling to be able to write “Lord David King” all over the place.

I love power!

Speak soon my fellow peasants!

-Lord Dave King

P.S. You can just buy a Lorship on the net nowadays. But it is damn fun writing it all over the place and telling your friends. Only costs $20.00 or so i believe!

Clever Advertising

If you’re anything like me you like “clever” ads. Nowadays most ads on TV are awful, posters are plain and internet banners become more and more similiar. I like it when I see someone using a clever way of promoting something. Today I came accross something that made me smile:

MSN Pop

This advertisement shows up in the bottom right hand corner of a page and simulates someone signing on to MSN. It’s in exactly the right position. When I saw it I almost clicked on it. For me, to click on an advertisement?? It must be good. The person promotes a dating site and in my opinion this person is making a killing. I advise you to think outside the box and find create some clever advertising.
